Fees at Jupiter Health Treeby – All Fee’s Are At The Doctors Discretion

We are a Mixed Billing Practice, which means some appointments may have a fee.

We still bulk bill certain patients at the doctors discretion. If you’re unsure, please ask our reception team.

We do not accept AMEX.

Billing & Appointment Fee Policy

By booking an appointment with a GP at our practice, you acknowledge and agree to our billing policies. All billing is at the discretion of the consulting doctor.

You understand that not all consultations are bulk billed and that fees may apply depending on the doctor, appointment type, and services provided. If the doctor advises that a fee applies to your consultation, you agree to be personally liable for payment of the appointment fee at the time of service.

Medicare rebates, where applicable, will be processed according to Medicare guidelines. Any gap or private fees remain the responsibility of the patient.

Full payment will be required on the day of your appointment and our staff will process your Medicare rebate for you.

Results are NOT bulk billed, this is at the doctors discretion

Did Not Attend (DNA) & Cancellation Policy

Due to high demand for appointments and the high number of non-attendance and cancellations for GP appointments, we will charge a fee of $60 per consultation or if a double consult, a fee of $100, that is not attended or not cancelled within 2 hours of the appointment time.

If this account is not paid, a letter of suspension of services and the outstanding account will be issued. This letter will see access to all services suspended until accounts are paid.

Important Information About Medicare Changes and Our Billing

Recent changes to Medicare incentives have prompted questions about bulk billing. While these changes encourage bulk billing in some settings, our practice will not be transitioning to bulk billing only appointments.

The Medicare rebate does not fully cover the cost of providing high quality, comprehensive medical care. Many of our patients require longer consultations, complex care, and continuity with their GP, which cannot be sustainably delivered under a bulk billing only model.

Not all consultations and services are eligible for the new Medicare incentives, and adopting a bulk billing only approach would limit the care we are able to provide.

By continuing with a mixed billing model, we can:

Maintain appointment availability and reasonable wait times
Provide longer and more thorough consultations when needed
Support patients with complex and chronic health needs
Ensure the long-term sustainability of our practice

Medicare rebates remain available for eligible services. Our reception team is happy to discuss fees and rebates with you at any time.

Who Is Bulk Billed?

You may be bulk billed if you are:

Under 16 years of age
Having a Chronic Disease Care Plan
Having a Health Assessment
A Concession Card or Health Care Card holder
Over 70 years old

Consult Fees – Weekdays ONLY

Fees vary depending on the doctor and type of consultation.

If you have a valid Medicare card, you will receive a Medicare rebate.

A Standard Appointment (10mins) is $85 and you will receive $43.90 back from medicare

An Extended Consult (15mins) is $100 and you will receive $43.90 back from medicare

A Long Appointment (20mins) is $150 and you will receive $84.90 back from medicare

Extra Fees Apply For:

Weekends (Saturday & Sunday 8am – 5pm)
Public Holidays
Walk-in patients (additional out-of-pocket fee of $50 plus the consult fee – please call us for details)

After Hours Fees

These apply:

Weekdays: Before 8am & after 8pm
Saturday: After 1pm
Sunday & Public Holidays: All day

Saturday (after 1pm or at the doctors discretion)

Standard Consult: $105
Long Consult: $165

Sunday (all day)

Standard Consult: $115
Extended Consult: $130
Long Consult: $185

Procedures

Procedures will incur a fee:

Iron Infusions – $234.90
Implanon / Mirena Insertions and Removals- Advised by Doctor
Skin Checks – $160 (Please note some doctors charge concession card holders for this service, please confirm with reception)
Wedge Resections – Advised by Doctor
Excisions – $50-$100 (The doctor will advise)

Phone Consultations

You may be eligible for a telephone consultation if you’ve visited us in person in the last 12 months.

Weekdays:

Under 6 mins: $86
6–20 mins: $95

Saturday: $105

Sunday: $115

Medicare rebates may apply if you’re eligible.

No Medicare Card?

If you don’t have a Medicare card, our fees are as below:

Weekday Consults:

Brief: $65
Standard: $85
Extended: $95 / $100
Long: $150

Not Covered by Medicare

The following services are not covered by Medicare and must be paid on the day:

Driving Medicals (Standard $165 inc GST & Commercial $200 inc GST)
Pre-Employment Medicals (from $181.50)
